This is perfect for a toddler just learning about Star Wars. The oversized hands are odd looking (why not make the character bigger!?!?), but my son doesn’t seem to notice. It’s helpful that the weapon is non-removable, as I never have to hunt for Luke’s light saber.

I’m really surprised at some of the negative reveiws this line has been receiving. This toy line has very much impressed me with its attention to detail and my boy loves them despite not having watched any of the movies yet. (We’re getting close though!) This set contains both Luke and Yoda. This version of Luke is from “The Empire Strikes Back” and has a lightsaber that’s attached to the hand (so no worries about it getting lost!) Yoda is… well, he’s Yoda. His size is proportionate to the other figures and also has a lightsaber attached at the hand. The choice of having Yoda with a lightsaber is a little surprising considering that we never saw Yoda wield a lightsaber in Empire or Return of the Jedi. Since their are several versions Luke in the line I’m surprised they didn’t make different versions of Yoda, but I can understand that the kids are going to want to make the figures fight so why not let the Jedi master have his lightsaber? No big deal. One thing I noticed on the page was the choking hazard warning. To reiterate, the lightsabers are ATTACHED to the figures; they can not be removed. I’m guessing the choking hazard is a reference to the Yoda figure itself since it is half the size of the normal figures. All in all a great two-pack; highly recommended. The current price of is a little high. I’ve seen these two-packs as low as in stores; normal pricing in the -9 range.

Why in the world does Yoda have a lightsaber? These figures look like they’re based on The Empire Strikes Back. Yoda should have a walking stick, if anything. |
