Exactly what we needed.,
March 9, 2010
I liked the idea of the Space Saver for our 4 month old daughter because 1) we didn’t have to purchase another piece of “furniture” to clutter up our already tight eating spaces, 2) it was dishwasher safe, and 3) it had reclining features and the tray adjusts to her size as she grows older (and chubbier, I suppose!). Needless to say, this product satisfied all our needs. AND, by far this is the cutest design Fisher Price came up with – gender neutral as well. Things I discovered: it is VERY easy to “install” (if you call snapping a fastener to the back and under the chair “installing”). It is sturdy. The cover is machine washable and can be removed/wiped easily. The tray is very roomy for toys or keeping prying hands away from bowls filled with food. Needless to say, we are 100% satisfied with this product: highly recommend.

not upright enough,
March 23, 2012
This review is from: Fisher-Price 2012 Space Saver High Chair, Scatterbug (Baby Product)
I purchased this at a BBrU and at first was thrilled. Its got a nice wide base. It fit fine onto a dining room chair. Was easy to assemble, install, and adjust to fit my LO. But within a couple of uses it has lost its charm. Granted its the first highchair/booster I’ve ever dealt with with my own baby, so maybe these will be issues I come up against when I look to replace this.
Here are the problems I have:
1. The seat back in its upright position does not come close enough to vertical, so my baby, who is completely capable of sitting up on her own, is forced to recline. And than her butt slides forward toward the saddle horn (what’s that called, anyway?) So she kind of looks slouchy in it. I want her to be able to sit on her butt and be upright, not sit on her lower back and lean back.
2. The seat under the butt is not smooth AT ALL. There’s a cut out right under the butt that’s about an inch and a half wide and a couple inches long. I wouldn’t want to sit in it. Maybe it wouldnt be a problem if the seat cover was more padded. But its a pretty thin (read easy wash/quick dry) seat cover.
3. The last thing, I suspect is universal among trays, but I don’t like it. The underside of the tray is like a honey comb; tons and tons of little crevices, probably necessary for pouring and molding plastic trays, I don’t know. But my baby, who’s hands are covered in moosh, touches the underside of the tray, which makes for a less quick clean up. Think of it as potentially being like the underside of a table at a diner.

Bigger than I thought…,

I like the look of the high chair, but it is bigger than I thought. I also thought it collapsed for easy transport, but not the case either. Will just have to take it apart when we travel.
